Three London Ladies teams made the short trip to the Kerry to take part in the 30th annual Paidi O Se tournament based in West Kerry. Tir Chonaill Gael, Kingdom Kerry Gaels and Round Towers all competed in the Ladies Junior Competition.
TCG got through to the Junior A Ladies Final beating two Kerry side’s including John Mitchel’s (3-10 to 0-4) and Annascaul/Castlegregory (3-8 to 0-5) with Fiona Morrissey, Naoimhín Daly, Denise Doherty and Katie Connole scoring with ease.
In the Junior A final, it was a battle of the capitals, with London’s TCG taking on Dublin’s Ballyboden St Endas. With treacherous weather conditions the TCG ladies found it difficult to score and were down by 6 points after the first half. In the second half and hungry to win they gave it their all but fell short of 4 points at full time.
In the same competition, Kingdom Kerry Gaels took on Ballyboden St Enda’s in their first game, losing our to the Dublin outfit by two points, dropping into the Junior B competition in the process. Round Towers lost to home team Dingle in the other quarter final of the Junior A competition, setting up an all London Junior B semi final.
On agreement of both clubs, the game doubled as the unplayed Mary Feehan Cup final from 2018, with KKG proving to be too strong for their East London opposition.
In the final, KKG faced Laois side Clonaslee St. Manman’s, winning their second trophy of the tournament claiming the Paidi O Se Junior B title 0-9 to 1-4 despite the wet and windy weather.
