January London County Board Meeting

The London County Board completed their AGM prior to the first meeting of the new season. With few issues remaining, these were swiftly dealt with. The financial report of the year, prepared by treasurer Bernie McGourty was read out, adopted and ratified. Patricia Morrison was elected as the registrar for the incoming year.

The youths section of the meeting was dominated by the exciting planning for the visit of The Wanderers Australia Girls AFL team, who will take on an London under 18 selection in Greenford on the morning of Saturday the 12th and Sunday the 13th.

The board bade farewell to Clare Towey, who has moved home to Ireland to take up a new role as a development officer with Connacht GAA.

Ideas for the structure of the Mary Feehan and Tom O Connor cups were discussed among the delegates present, with some ideas being fed back to the fixtures committee for deliberation.

London President, Joe Fryday presented the board with a generous cheque for £3,000 for the season ahead.

The next county board meeting with take place on the 7th of February, with the youths meeting at 7pm, and the adult board at 7.30pm in McGovern Park, Ruislip.
